Why be a Master?
As a Master, you help people in your community who have limited financial or physical means, which in turn allows them to take better care of their homes than they could otherwise.
By offering Pay-What-You-Can services, you enable those who can pay to help their neighbors who may be less fortunate.
Who can be a Master?
Masters have proven skills in home maintenance. They may be experienced homeowners with a history of safe and efficient DIY work, or they may be tradespeople or contractors. They are assessed through a comprehensive vetting process. You don't need to be an expert in all the services we offer. You may be a great plumber, but know nothing about electrical work - this is perfectly acceptable; whatever skills you have will be the services provided.
All Masters must pass a CORI check and are subject to random drug testing for the safety and security of our clients.
What does a Master do?
Per the Clyde & Rose license, Masters provide only the “typical repairs a homeowner would do themselves”. This means they do not provide significant services such as roofing, structural, or any work that requires a higher license (such as a Master Electrician or Plumber’s license). Furthermore, we realize that not all Masters are skilled at or comfortable providing all services (for example, some may not want to do electrical work). This is OK. You are only expected to provide the services you are comfortable with!
