Process

What you can expect from us.

  • You schedule an appointment with us.

  • We will provide an estimate of how much time we expect your project to take, the cost of materials, and when we can do the work.

  • We will arrive on time.

  • If we can, we'll address the issue then and there during our first appointment.

  • We will ask you to review completed work. We won’t consider the job done until you’re satisfied. 

  • We will clean up the job site when we’re finished.

  • Due to the volunteer and non-profit nature of our business, and our desire to help as many people as possible, we may have to refuse jobs that are beyond our capabilities, are too big or take too much time.  We are happy to recommend local service providers who can serve you.

Payment

How our pay-what-you-can service covers costs.

  • The only thing you are required to pay for is the materials that we need to complete your work. We pass along the costs of the materials without a markup, so you pay only what we pay.  We require that you reimburse us for these costs when we complete the job.

  • We will also document the value of the labor associated with your job. While you are not required to pay these costs, we ask that you to pay as much as you can. This will help us offset the costs of maintaining other people’s homes in your community who may not be as fortunate as you.

  • Our staff and volunteers will be courteous and respectful to you, your family and your home.

  • Our staff is competent, and committed to giving back to the community.

  • All of our staff have passed a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check and random drug screening.

  • Our company is fully insured and licensed and bonded in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
